Coupar Angus heritage appeal

IDEAS are being sought for a brochure covering the heritage of Coupar Angus.

Residents and organisations are being invited to put forward suggestions covering quirky and historically-interesting buildings and places for inclusion in this year’s Doors Open Day programme, on September 22 and 23.

A spokeswoman for the Coupar Angus Regeneration Trust said: “Door Open Day in Coupar Angus has grown year on year and is one of the busiest areas for events in the whole county, well outstripping the city of Perth.

“Last year the Masonic Hall joined in, which I hope we can have open again this year, while anyone who has a photo collection to show in one of the churches or halls would be welcomed.

“Jampionships, the world jam awards, is all about our berry heritage. Do you have any memories and photos of your time ‘up the dreels’?

“If you would like to be part of this exhibition of memories e-mail admin@jampionships.co.uk.

“Alternatively could you have a traditional tea dance to raise funds for your organisation. The brochure is printed and circulated widely but hopefully we can still get a few late entrants on the website.”
