Blairgowrie Players need spinning wheel for panto

THIS year's pantomime plea for help from Blairgowrie Players concerns a spinning wheel, which is a major feature of the Sleeping Beauty story.

Players' president and panto director Graham Reid said, “We had the offer of one, but it had to be withdrawn because the wheel was going to become operational!

“So we are on the hunt once more. It doesn't need to be a working one and we could collect if necessary. Contact me during the day on 01250 874230. Obviously we would look after it and return it at the end of the panto run with our grateful thanks.”

In 36 years of pantomime, this is only the third time that Sleeping Beauty has been performed, the last time being in 1992, 17 years ago.

“The Players' pantomimes have, with few exceptions, always been the traditional family type,” said Graham. Sleeping Beauty will be presented in Blairgowrie Town Hall, nightly at 7pm, from Monday to Saturday, November 30 to December 5, with matinees on Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6, at 2pm.

Tickets are held at last year's prices: Balcony £8, stalls £7, and concessions £6 stalls only. They are available from The Music Box, Allan Street, Blairgowrie, on 01250 875424, or at the door.
