Nov 20 2008 Blairgowrie Advertiser
DEAR Editor – There are wire rabbit snares being set, possibly in a garden, in the Rosemount Park and or Manor Gardens area of Blairgowrie.
This is a residential area which is truly rich in wildlife, and include red squirrels and hedgehogs.
These rabbit snares cause terrible suffering to the unfortunate creatures that get caught in them, and on three occasions very recently, three cats have returned home half strangled, still bearing the snares – obviously cut free by someone?
Cats Protection would advise anyone with information regarding this to please contact the police in Blairgowrie as they have been informed of the situation.
If any member of the public finds a cat or any animal that appears to be injured, we would advise them to take it straight to the closest vet for urgent treatment.
For more information regarding this please contact Cat Protection's Perth branch on 07050 184 307.
