Balmoral United are in the draw for the Scottish Amateur Cup fourth round after a hard fought 2-0 away win over Blairardie United in Glasgow.
The game was played on a 3g surface and it took Balmoral nearly 20 minutes to find their feet on the fast surface and although the home side had all the ball Balmoral keeper Scott O’Brien wasn’t tested.
In 40 minutes Balmoral took the lead when they won the ball in the middle of the park. When Jamie Duncan’s through ball to Darren Neave was blocked back to him he finished well on the half volley from the edge of the box.
In the second half Blairardie went close in 50 minutes when a header from a corner went just past a post. They had a chance in 75 minutes when Darren Neave played a ball through to Cattigan who struck well.
Balmoral got their second goal in 80 minutes.from Michael Cattigan who prodded home.
This week Balmoral are home to Coupar Angus.
