BLAIRGOWRIE Dolphins have had another busy month and remain top of the Second Division.
The club participated in a Kinross friendly gala on May 23 – an opportunity for swimmers who do not normally take part in galas or competitions. Well done to all swimmers who took part, winning the trophy for Blairgowrie.
The Dolphins also took part in the Midland distance meet on May 29-31.
Eight swimmers were accepted for this – Lindsay McNally, Daniella McMillan, Rachael Millar, Jennifer Ramsay, Andie Todd, Arran Todd, Sarah Welsh, and Megan Wright. Many personal best times were established, and placings achieved included:
Lindsay McNally, second in the 200 metres freestyle; Daniella McMillan, third in the 200 metres butterfly; Arran Todd, third in the 200 metres backstroke, 400 metres freestyle, and 200 metres individual medley.
At the Second Division Gala on June 6 Blairgowrie had a comfortable win at Arbroath. The team are now top of the Second Division with 14 points. The next gala will be hosted by Blairgowrie in Arbroath on August 29.
The Stars of the Future on June 7 attracted young swimmers from all over Scotland and five swimmers were accepted from Blairgowrie – Ryan Aitchison, Sean Linklater, Amy McDonald, Arran Todd, Callum Wright.
There were some great swims with Arran reaching the final of the backstroke and finishing sixth.
