Angling courses are confirmed

OVER the last few weeks there has been speculation regarding proposed Angling Qualifications and Angling For Youth Development’s role in them.

PC Grev Humphrey, of Blairgowrie, confirmed this week that this was the case.

“AFYD currently has two courses with the Scottish Qualification Authority for the purposes of SCQF credit and levelling,” he explained. “The first course is Game Angling and the other Fishery Science.

“These courses are entering the curriculum of some Scottish Secondary schools in June and September this year, as pilots, with a view to offering them to schools throughout Scotland from 2010.”
