Thousands protest against cuts

Thousands of teachers, lecturers and parents from across Scotland have taken part in a protest march against education funding cuts.

The demonstration in Glasgow was part of a campaign by the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS) to defend education and "protect the funding of schools, colleges and universities".

Its members are angry at proposed job losses, school closures and reductions in resources.
