THE Blairgowrie Merchants Association, at their open meeting last week before a distinguished and influential audience, enjoyed the company of four speakers.
Mr and Mrs Page, of Something Special Flowers, spoke clearly about their method for success and how they took part in the competition for Perthshire' s Best Business of the Year Award sponsored by Perthshire Chamber of Commerce. Their method was absolutely straight forward and fundamental and well worth listening to.
Councillor Caroline Shiers spoke about The One Forum. Caroline as ever spoke clearly and to the point and clarified the position of The One Forum. Her talk could not have been better presented.
Grev Humphrey, who is Community Crime Officer, spoke about the local application of Angling For Youth Development and also the wider application throughout Scotland and Ireland. Grev and AYFD were highlighted on the back page of last week's Blairgowrie Advertiser. The future of AFYD is dynamic and Grev explained their successes and aspirations.
The meeting was outstanding and enjoyed by all who attended.
The agm will take place in the Royal Hotel on Wednesday, February 17, at 8pm. The meeting is to be addressed by Michael Cheesewright from Pitlochry who started up and successfully ran the Pitlochry street party held on January 1 each year. He will explain how he started the celebrations. It is thought that this will perhaps be a role model for Blairgowrie.
