New network aims to boost local business

LOCAL businesses will be able to learn more about each other’s activities and support and promote each other through a series of networking events being planned by Blairgowrie and East Perthshire Tourist Association.

BEPTA chairman Mike Purdie said the first of these events will take place on Thursday next week (November 20) in the Angus Hotel between 3pm and 7pm.

Up to 14 businesses have agreed to take part and each will have a stand in the main function room.

Mr Purdie said: “The emphasis for this first network will be the great outdoors, with a number of businesses whose focus covers The Cateran Trail and walking, golf and golfing holidays, adventure activities and a wide range of outdoor pursuits available in the Blairgowrie and East Perthshire area.

“There will also be a representative from GrowBiz, whose aim is to help people in East Perthshire to start up a business or to grow an existing business.

“This will be an open house occasion with free admission, allowing anyone to drop in at any time in the afternoon or early evening to visit and chat to the businesses and find out what they have to offer.

“All are welcome to come along and view what should be an interesting selection of business propositions.

“Members of the business community and the general public will be equally welcome.”

Exhibitors will include: Cairnwell Mountain Sports, Gulabin Lodge, Glentrek, Outdoor Angus, Glenshee Tourist Association, Golfdesk Scotland, Scottish Mixed Foursomes Golf Week, Dirnanean Garden, Blairgowrie and East Perthshire Walking Festival, Perth and Kinross Council Countryside Trust (The Cateran Trail), Stanley Mills (Historic Scotland), TeeDeal, Peel Farm, and GrowBiz.
