THIS month’s Blairgowrie Community Market will take place on Saturday (July 28) and will have a special theme.
The July market has long been known locally as the “berry market”, as it is celebration of the East Perthshire soft fruit industry and the crops being at their best.
As well as a variety of stall holders offering fresh local produce and local crafts, Love To Eat and Jampionships will be in attendance. There will be cookery competitions and demonstrations, a chance to make your own berry gateau, cooking workshops for kids, face painting and much much more.
The market will not only be an opportunity to showcase the many talented craft-workers resident in and around Blairgowrie but an opportunity to meet your community councillors and find out more about local issues.
The young people of the Strathmore Centre for Youth Development also have a fundraising stall to help raise much needed funding for their projects.
The market, located in the Wellmeadow, will be open from 10am to 3pm.
For more information contact Sue at Strathmore and the Glens on 01828 640763 or email sue@strathmoreglens.sol.co.uk. Blairgowrie Community Market also has a facebook page.
The market is run by volunteers, who live and work in the area and organise the monthly event in their spare time.
