Section of Riverside Walk in Blairgowrie closed to public

PART of the Riverside Walk in Blairgowrie will be closed for the foreseeable future for safety reasons.

The closure follows the collapse of a section of retaining wall, which is part of the former mill in Riverside Park. The steps and path which lead from the north side of the A93 bridge over the River Ericht to Mill Street in Blairgowrie have been securely fenced off to prevent access to the area and protect members of the public.

A structural survey will be carried out shortly to assess the extent of damage to the wall and determine the scale of repair works required.

The nearby play area will not be affected, however pedestrians will not be able to use the steps to access Mill Street while the section of path is closed.
